Why I’m not for everyone.
By Robert Mahase

I looked at my portfolio a few years ago and realized something that made me want to quit: I was exactly like everyone else.
I was technically "good." I was posing people well. I was retouching perfectly. I was a commodity. I was just another boudoir photographer in a sea of thousands.
I decided that day that I would either find a unique vision or close the studio for good. I spent months studying the masters of shadow—Helmut Newton, Hurrell, Wayda. I didn't want to "empower" you with bright lights and a generic smile. I wanted to protect you with shadows and find your fire.
That is how Shadow-Play was born.
My studio in Titusville is a destination for the woman who doesn't fit into the "standard" boudoir box. It’s for the survivors, the professionals, and the mothers who are tired of the "Taco Bell" version of beauty.
I use cinematic lighting and specialized sets like my Fine-Art Unfiltered sessions because they are the only tools strong enough to find the woman inside you. This isn't a "photoshoot." This is an artistic reclamation.
Private sessions are currently booking for September and October in Titusville. Every commission begins with a confidential conversation about your story, boundaries, and vision.
If you want the safe and tested, go to the generic studios. If you want to see the masterpiece I see, the shadows are waiting.
